I went to Harbour Island to shoot Allison and CT's wedding (which I'll post in the future, because its a great one) and Allison brought in her makeup artist from Salt Lake City - Vivian Johnson... Vivian is an insanely talented makeup artist and travels all around doing destination weddings and shoots, if you're having a destination wedding, she should be your girl, I highly recommend her!!! Vivian and I met the day before the wedding and then I ran into her an Jeff during dinner at our hotel. We talked about possibly getting up at sunrise the next day to do a little session for them... Man am I glad I woke up, because it was gorgeous, and they were perfect! We shot some of them and a little of Vivian incase she need some for her blog!
A Look Back on 2014 - This is something that I like to do every year, it lets me relive the past year, and let it sink in a little. With all of the weddings, shoots and traveling, the year as a whole, in my mind, tends to blur. I feel that I've grown more this year than any other year, mostly as a person and a business owner. I'm still not the greatest at either, and it's a goal of my this year to continue to strive at it. 2014 brought be to some incredible new places that I've never dreamed that I'd go. And I've made relationships with people and clients that I'll cherish for ever! I can't wait to see what God has in plan for this year, the places to go and the new people to meet and get to know! I lift 2015 up in your name! I need to thank my special friend Tiffani Jones, for having my back at a lot of weddings and shoots this year, I couldn't have done them without ya! And the biggest appreciation to my wife and my son, Lincoln, for sacrificing our quality time for this thing I call work. You're the reason that I continue to strive to get better in everything that I do!
As of late, it seems that I have been traveling more and more, and since i haven't really been with my family out of town, I've been wanting to do a little more fun shooting. Shooting things aren't anything to do with weddings and in places that I might not have seen... I went up to Georgia in June for an engagement session and I knew that I wanted to shoot something else while I was there...
I had the pleasure in shooting Melody a couple years ago for a little fun shoot with my good friend Tiffani, here's the link if you want to check it out. I reached out to Mel and asked her if she knew of anyone that might want to play around and do a little lifestyle session. She said "besides me? ;)" Her and her husband met me at Sweetwater Creek, kind of early in the morning, but it turned out pretty rad! Thanks so much to the Munn's for helping me with my creativity!! If you haven't checked Melody out before, go now, she's a super talented graphic designer, with killer style! Enjoy
Another year has come and passed, and I'm still so blessed, by God's will, to continue to be doing what I love. I still LOVE it, and that's huge when it's your "job"! Shooting wedding all over Florida, Harbour Island, Bahamas, Richmond, VA, New Orleans, LA, and New York CIty, wow, it was a crazy one! Each year, I feel that I grow more and more as a person, an artist and a business owner. Last year, I realized how much I love to shoot something other than weddings, like landscapes. I didn't do that enough in 2013, so thats a goal of mine for 2014, and I need to make time for it! One thing that i did learn tis year is really connecting with my clients, and showing their connection in my art. Also, this year, I gained a great friend. Tiffani, I really value our friendship. Thank you for taking time away from your family and business to help me out with traveling and shooting weddings with me. There's so much this year that I couldn't have done without you, and my clients benefited from your incredible gift! Lastly, I know NONE of this could be done without the love and support from my wife. I know that photography takes away from you and Lincoln, and I appreciate your understanding and how much you do and make our family solid. We always say "the best is yet to come", 2014 is going to be the best year yet! I love you! There's a few in there from when I had the honor of Second Shooting Ben Sasso's wedding for Shipra Panosian. Thanks so much Shipra for asking me to come along!
Melody is Melody Joy Deisgns who's an amazing artist and crazy talented graphic designer. If you don't know her work, you need to check it out. Mel, thanks for being mine and Tiffani's little model for this lifestyle session, I think that it suits you and your personality perfect! You killed it girlie! So my good friend Tiffani and I have been trying to collaborate on some shoots to help us grow a little. Some shoots, that are away from the wedding industry, and that will help us grow a little and to think more outside the box. So this Grunge Lifestyle session / Lakeland is our first... Thank you so much Haylee for being our model for this grunge shoot! Haylee is a super talented makeup artist in the Tampa Bay area, contact me, if you need her info! Here's Tiffani's rendition of it, be sure to check it out, her vision is insane!
I can not believe that the year is already over! The older I get, I feel that the faster that it goes, right?!? Over this past year, I feel like I've learned some things about myself and with photography. I realized that I love shooting more than just couples! I was blessed to have clients to trust me enough to bring me to Asheville, NC, San Francisco, and Harbour Island, Bahamas... I've always have loved nature and landscape photography. Growing up (when photography was a hobby), I wanted to take those photos, of some gorgeous scenery landscape, that you would want to hang on your wall! With my travels this year, I got back to why I actually started photography a long time ago. Shooting some gorgeous landscapes! Also, I had no clue how much I would love iPhoneography! It might be my favorite camera that I own! I couldn't do what I do without clients that trust me to be me! To let me tell their story how I see it. I can not be thankful enough that I'm able to use a gift that God has given me to bless others. Thank you to my wife and to Lincoln for the sacrifice that they do for allowing me to follow what I think that I was born to do!
