A Look Back on 2014 - This is something that I like to do every year, it lets me relive the past year, and let it sink in a little. With all of the weddings, shoots and traveling, the year as a whole, in my mind, tends to blur. I feel that I've grown more this year than any other year, mostly as a person and a business owner. I'm still not the greatest at either, and it's a goal of my this year to continue to strive at it. 2014 brought be to some incredible new places that I've never dreamed that I'd go. And I've made relationships with people and clients that I'll cherish for ever! I can't wait to see what God has in plan for this year, the places to go and the new people to meet and get to know! I lift 2015 up in your name! I need to thank my special friend Tiffani Jones, for having my back at a lot of weddings and shoots this year, I couldn't have done them without ya! And the biggest appreciation to my wife and my son, Lincoln, for sacrificing our quality time for this thing I call work. You're the reason that I continue to strive to get better in everything that I do!
Another year has come and passed, and I'm still so blessed, by God's will, to continue to be doing what I love. I still LOVE it, and that's huge when it's your "job"! Shooting wedding all over Florida, Harbour Island, Bahamas, Richmond, VA, New Orleans, LA, and New York CIty, wow, it was a crazy one! Each year, I feel that I grow more and more as a person, an artist and a business owner. Last year, I realized how much I love to shoot something other than weddings, like landscapes. I didn't do that enough in 2013, so thats a goal of mine for 2014, and I need to make time for it! One thing that i did learn tis year is really connecting with my clients, and showing their connection in my art. Also, this year, I gained a great friend. Tiffani, I really value our friendship. Thank you for taking time away from your family and business to help me out with traveling and shooting weddings with me. There's so much this year that I couldn't have done without you, and my clients benefited from your incredible gift! Lastly, I know NONE of this could be done without the love and support from my wife. I know that photography takes away from you and Lincoln, and I appreciate your understanding and how much you do and make our family solid. We always say "the best is yet to come", 2014 is going to be the best year yet! I love you! There's a few in there from when I had the honor of Second Shooting Ben Sasso's wedding for Shipra Panosian. Thanks so much Shipra for asking me to come along!
I can not believe that the year is already over! The older I get, I feel that the faster that it goes, right?!? Over this past year, I feel like I've learned some things about myself and with photography. I realized that I love shooting more than just couples! I was blessed to have clients to trust me enough to bring me to Asheville, NC, San Francisco, and Harbour Island, Bahamas... I've always have loved nature and landscape photography. Growing up (when photography was a hobby), I wanted to take those photos, of some gorgeous scenery landscape, that you would want to hang on your wall! With my travels this year, I got back to why I actually started photography a long time ago. Shooting some gorgeous landscapes! Also, I had no clue how much I would love iPhoneography! It might be my favorite camera that I own! I couldn't do what I do without clients that trust me to be me! To let me tell their story how I see it. I can not be thankful enough that I'm able to use a gift that God has given me to bless others. Thank you to my wife and to Lincoln for the sacrifice that they do for allowing me to follow what I think that I was born to do!
This year has been nothing short of amazing!I have one wedding left on the 30th, but other than that, it's a wrap! It's been a year of some highs and lows. For my second full year, the highs far outreached the lows, and I'll take that! For ones that don't know, I was in the construction field doing manual labor... One of my goals this year, was to go full time in photography. In August, through a lot of prayer and talks with my wife, we decided to take the leap. We had our son, Lincoln, coming in September, I figured if I didn't do it now, that I might not ever. I've never looked back. The 4th quarter was the busiest that I ever could dream, with Lincoln coming, and shooting almost half of my 2011 weddings, timing was perfect. I could have never kept up! I've been blessed with the best couples that have invited me into their lives and have allowed me to share my vision with the biggest day of their life. I'm so excited about what 2012 is going to bring, the people that I'll get to know, and stories that I'll get to document and share. I have some big goals for this next year, (and I don't normally make goals) personally and as an artist. I cannot wait! Thank you to my wife, Ashley, for putting up with me this crazy year, I absolutely could do NONE of this without you and your support. Thanks to Alisha for our relationship and what you mean to me, this business would not be where it's at without you! And last, but most important, thanks to the One that gives me the strength, without Him, I would be nothing!
I had the pleasure 2nd shooting this next one with my good friend Jessica Lorren!
